Hey everyone! I’m back with another round of Sunday Songs! I’m well aware of the fact that it is not Sunday today. In fact, it’s a couple days past! Unfortunately, this post didn’t get completed in time. I didn’t want to change the name of my music posts or wait until the end of the week though so we’re going to just go with it. So here were on a Tuesday instead.
I’ve had a good bit of free time recently as I’m done with school, and am currently going through the job search. I’ve used that free time to check out some new music, and I’ve got some stuff that I’m really enjoying at the moment.
In ways it’s great that I waited a couple of days too late to post this week’s Sunday Songs as I woke up to a great new song today! All Time Low is a band I’ve liked for a bit now, and today they released their new song “Some Kind of Disaster.” I haven’t been able to stop listening to it since. It’s definitely a bop! The song was a great way to get my day going! You can check the video out below which I highly recommend as I think I love the video as much as I love the song!
All Time Low isn’t the only band I’ve liked for a while that is releasing new music. In fact, one of the very first bands I got into has been releasing new music recently. Colony House has put out several new songs leading up to the release of their brand new album that comes out this week! If you’re looking for some new music to get your weekend started then you should check their album out when it’s released this coming Friday (1/24/2020). My favorite song that they’ve released from the album so far has to be “Original Material.” The lyrics are both great and relatable, and the instrumentals compliment the song extremely well. I’ve found it stuck in my head quite a lot since it came out. Their latest song released though is “Where I’m From,” and I’ve quickly grown to love it as much as “Original Material.” Everything about it is phenomenal, including the video!! The video is simple, but it proves that simple can be quite beautiful. You can check the video for “Where I’m From” out below!
Sticking with the theme of bands I’ve liked for a bit I feel the next song I have to share with ya’ll comes from a band who just recently reunited. No, I’m not talking about MCR but you better bet that when they release something I’ll be talking about it nonstop. The band I’m talking about is a trio, and no it’s not the Jonas Brothers either. I’m talking about Hot Chelle Rae! I’ve been somewhat patiently awaiting their return for a bit now, and so when they announced they were coming back last year I was quite excited! In my opinion, their new song “I Hate LA” did not disappoint. It’s fun and upbeat, and seems like the perfect song for summer. I also love all the catchy/fun lines they put in the song. It’s a solid bop that I’ll be jamming forever! Can’t wait to see what they put out next! You can see all the creative lines that are in this song by checking out the lyric video below! It’s hard to pick a favorite, but “I was gonna leave but like a palm tree I got swayed” definitely made me laugh.
Alright we’re at the point where we are getting to artists that I haven’t listened to as long as I’ve listened to the three listed above! They’re artists that I’m really loving at the moment though! We’ll start first off with a single from an artist that I’m pretty sure is the song I’ve listened to the most this year. Tame Impala’s “Posthumous Forgiveness” came out at the end of last year, and found it’s way on to my 2020 playlist. I’m not going to lie when I go to start the playlist I often find myself picking this song as the one to start it off. I know I say I’m obsessed with a song quite often, but this song has really intrigued me since the first time I heard it. I love how halfway through the song it kind of changes. I originally thought it was two songs released instead of one, and it drew me in. It’s a beautiful song that will likely stay in my top five for the year. I guess we’ll have to wait and see until I hear his full album though. It comes out February 14, 2020 so Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! I know how I’ll be spending that day! There’s no video for the song, but you can check out the audio below!
Alright this next song is one I’ve been listening to for the past few months, but the first time I heard it I felt attacked. It’s “Problems” by Arizona. From the very first line I thought that they had to have reached into my brain for some of the lyrics. It’s a very honest song, that I found myself relating to in many ways. It’s probably my second most listened to this year, and I highly recommend it. I also recommend their other songs as they have a lot of great ones. You can check out the video for this amazing song below!
Alright today I’m ending with a band I just found out about in the past week or so. An ad for their music showed up on my Instagram, and I decided to check them out. I can’t stop listening to their stuff now. It showed up at the perfect time as well. Their music to me has great rainy day vibes, and I found them on a rainy day. It rained what seemed almost nonstop for the next few days after I discovered them, and so they were perfect to listen to on those days. It’s a band called Seafret, and I’d say they give me Kodaline or Passenger type vibes. Just really chill music that’s perfect for rainy or lazy days. I’m still trying to pick a favorite song by them, but I really liked the video for “Most of Us are Strangers.” It just came out like a week ago, and I thought it was an interesting concept. You know the drill by now! You can watch by clicking the video below!
Alright that’s a wrap for this week’s Sunday Songs! Hope you enjoyed, and hope you find something you like! In the coming week I hope to keep finding new music, and plan to keep enjoying what I’ve just shared with you. Obviously I’ll be listening to Colony House’s new album when it comes out FRIDAY!! I also want to check out the new Selena Gomez album as I’ve heard some good things about it! Also pretty excited that while writing this post I got an email saying that another one of my favorite bands has a song coming out soon. So I can’t wait to hear “loneliness for love” by lovelytheband on January 31! That’s all I have for now! If you have an artists or song I should check out be sure to let me know! Thanks for reading! Have a great week everyone!
