Sunday Songs-3/29/20

I feel like it’s a great time for this picture to make another appearance since CALM is finally out!

It’s time for another round of Sunday songs, and this week I have some really great albums to share. With everything going on at the moment I’m sure a lot of people have a little extra time on their hands, and need something to do. It’s the perfect time to check out some new music and make some new playlists. Let me help you with that by sharing some of the stuff I’m listening to at the moment. Then maybe you can help me out by sharing what you’re listening to as well!

There’s been several albums to come out recently that I’ve really loved, but one of my favorites has to be kelsea. It’s Kelsea Ballerini’s new album, and I think it’s her best yet. I adore her other album’s, but this one definitely stands out. It’s fun, relatable, has great collaborations, and is full of bops. From the first song I was hooked! Seriously “overshare” is one of those songs that I felt came straight from my own mind. The lyrics “I overshare, because I over-care about the person over there, who’s completely unaware that I overthink” feels like a description of me a lot of the time. “the other girl” feat. Halsey is also such a great song. Their voices sound great together, and the song gives me major 1989 Taylor vibes. Then you have “hole in the bottle” which is just a lot of fun. She really outdid herself on this album, and whether you’re a country fan or not I feel there’s something you can find on the album that you’ll like.

Another album I’ve really enjoyed is Niall Horan’s new album Heartbreak Weather. Niall’s solo albums have been some of my favorites to come from the 1D guys. His first album was so great, and his concert for that album was one of my favorite concerts I’ve been to. I was really excited when he announced his second album, and he didn’t disappoint. It’s likely to change, but I think at the moment my favorite is “Black and White.” I think one of the things that I like about Niall is he seems to have such a great personality, and his music just seems to exude that personality. It’s hard not to feel good when listening to his music. So if you need something to cheer you up while you’re home I’d recommend giving this album a listen. Especially “Nice to Meet Ya” or “No Judgement.”

The next album I want to share I’ve deemed my birthday album as it came out the day before my bday so it was kind of like a present to me. It’s CALM by 5SOS. I always enjoy 5SOS’ albums because every album they’ve put out shows their growth as people and artists. I feel like I’ve grown up with them, and so it makes it even more fun. I’m loving all of the songs, but “Red Desert” is definitely the one that stands out to me currently. I can’t get over the vocals in it, and the music in it just makes it even better. “Wildflower” and “Lover of Mine” are also some of my favorites though. I just ordered the target deluxe album yesterday which has a few extra songs, and I look forward to hearing those to see if my favorite changes. This album will definitely be on repeat for a while.

Along with listening to these new albums, I’ve been working on a new playlist. I believe I’ve mentioned on here how I really want to travel somewhere some time soon. With that being in mind I started working on a playlist of songs that make me think of traveling. When I say I started I mean I literally just started it. It barely has anything on it yet, but I’ll share one of the songs that I added. It’s a song I was reminded of the other day as it played on a show I was watching. It’s not necessarily about travel, but for some reason when I hear it traveling comes to mind. Maybe as I get the playlist more developed I’ll share more of it.

Hopefully these suggestions will give you something to listen to during this time at home. Maybe have a dance party, use them as background music, or do both. Whatever you prefer when it comes to listening to music. Right now I’m sitting on my front porch jamming them through my headphones while enjoying the beautiful weather. I’ll probably regret sitting outside later due to all the pollen, but for now it’s really nice. Hope everyone is doing well, and is staying home. Hope you enjoy the music I’ve shared this week! I’d love to hear what you’re listening to as well so be sure to comment below. Thanks for reading! Have a great week!
